Again, it was time for the "big four" countries to play for the victory in the WFC 2006. Was it again time for Sweden to win? First of all, the Czech team were Sweden's primary challenge in semifinals. Of course, the host team was supposed to be the definite favourite in that match, but the public pressure could cause a surprise.
Nevertheless, Sweden started great and put the Czech under pressure from the very beginning. Thus, the 3-0 lead after minutes was definitely derserved, as Czech just seemed too weak for that match. But they came back in second period and just were one goal behind at 3-2, when Peter Kuzusnik scored twice in the 33th and 38th minute. Unfortunately, Niklas Jihde managed to score shortly afterwards.
Though the Czech team played very spiritful, they just seemed to be unable to come back in the game by a third goal. Thus, Sweden saved the lead with a reasonable performance.
